Bumprints Welcomes Two New Trustees to Its Board

Bristol, England (27 Oct 2026) – Bumprints, the UK charity helping passengers fly better in the climate crisis, is delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees: Celeste Hicks and Alex Chikhani. The board unanimously confirmed their appointment, bringing the board to five trustees and adding deep expertise across aviation policy, campaigning, fuels and governance.

Celeste Hicks is Policy Manager at the Aviation Environment Federation (AEF), which campaigns on aviation’s climate, air pollution, noise and biodiversity impacts. She previously worked at Friends of the Earth during the Heathrow runway legal challenge and is the author of Expansion Rebellion: Using the Law to Fight a Runway and Save the Planet. Before moving into environmental policy, she was a BBC World Service journalist in West Africa.

Alex Chikhani is a former RAF fuels specialist who co-founded and runs CirculAIRity, a company working on sustainable aviation fuel and on tweaking the make-up of jet fuel to cut contrails. He sits on international jet fuel standards and defence committees and, from next year, will be vice-chair of the sustainability working group of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Aviation. He’s also a Chartered Director and is studying part-time for a PhD on contrails.

‘We’re thrilled to welcome Celeste and Alex to the board,’ said Katie Thompson, founder and CEO of Bumprints. ‘Between them, they bring exactly the policy, campaigning, fuels and governance know-how we need as we grow, and share our belief that aviation can, and must, do better. We’re lucky to have them helping steer Bumprints to greater heights.’

‘It’s important that we have the right breadth of knowledge and expertise around the board table,’ said Stacy Smith, Chair of Trustees. ‘Celeste and Alex each bring considerable experience in aviation and environmental affairs that will further strengthen Bumprints’ governance and ensure we continue to effect positive change, both within the industry and for the community learning from us. We’re delighted to welcome them both, and we look forward to their insights on helping people fly better.’
